Talent Submission

The Austin Models & Talent Agency is always looking for new talent ages 5 and older. We do not represent babies. Because we are primarily a land-based agency, we are only interested in talent who physically reside in the Central Texas area. Exceptions can be made for well established and/or name talent, of course. We are not a school and we are not a photo studio. We do not "train" models or actors. We represent professional models who already have professional commercial portfolios, and actors who already have resumes that include both professional training and some experience. This page on our website provides the "how to" for submitting for representation to this agency. Please read this entire page and understand all the requirements before submitting. If you do not follow these instructions, your submission will not be reviewed and will be thrown away or deleted.

We expect models to also make themselves available for commercial acting work as we do not represent anyone strictly for print. As an established agency in the industry, the Austin Models & Talent Agency expects talent to hit the ground running, ready to be submitted for jobs once signed with the agency. If you submit and we are interested in you, we may schedule an appointment for you to come sit down and interview and audition for the agency. We try to meet with new talent once per month. When you arrive to this meeting, you will be expected to have the following already in place (or be prepared to obtain these before starting with the agency):

• Professional Headshot - digital and printed 8x10 version
• Resume listing experience and relevant training
• Minimum of basic auditioning training (from any qualified instructor)
• Actor's Access account (vital for any actor)
• Texas Work Permit (required by the State of Texas for minors)
• California Work Permit and Coogan Account (if minor is interested in Hollywood submissions)
• Professional quality commercial portfolio (if also seeking print work)
• Acting Slate Video (currently optional, but highly recommended)
• Professionally Recorded Demo (applicable for singers/musicians and voice over talent only)

If you do not follow these guidelines and are not prepared, you will only be wasting your time and ours and we will not bring you back again for a second opportunity. Agency representation is a NEXT step in a model or acting career... not a first step. We do not teach people how to model or act; agencies book auditions and jobs. We are seeking talent that are ready for a professional agent and who have done enough ground work to be at the level that an agent is required to go further.

ACTOR / ACTRESS
Experienced actors should submit a headshot and resume, including training details. Inexperience actors should gain experience doing student and independent projects, taking workshops and acting classes, networking with other actors, and gaining related experience and knowledge to prepare for an acting career. A minimum of basic audition training, including cold reading, is required (high school drama or college theatre are not sufficient). There are a number of good acting coaches available in most the major cities in Texas and/or through various Casting Directors. Submit by providing headshot and resume and/or a link to your Actor's Access profile.

COMMERCIAL PRINT MODELS & PARTS SPECIFIC MODELS
As a commercial agency, we have no specific height requirement and we consider all types and ages over 5. We do not represent alternative models (tattoos, piercings, unusual hair colors or cuts, etc.) as most of our clients are mainstream commercial in nature. Visible tattoos or facial piercings usually cannot be present on the models we represent. We also do not seek models who do "Internet glamour" (our clients do not included men's magazines or adult products). With that in mind, portfolio photos created via TFP or testing with photographers should be commercial oriented. Some high fashion images in a portfolio are fine, but keep in mind that Texas is not a "fashion capital" and there is very little paid runway work here. Children should have minimal makeup and be posing in age-appropriate situations. Remember that in the commercial industry, it is always better to look younger than it is to look older than you are. We do consider both experienced and inexperienced models as long as there exists a professional commercial quality portfolio and again, we do require basic audition training as a minimum for all talent. We do not require, and we do not recommend or suggest, modeling school classes. Submit a full body and commercial headshot initially, along with your Actor's Access profile link. Please do not send us links to adult oriented sites such as the Models Mayhem.

PROMOTIONAL MODELS
All of the above requirements do not apply to those submitting for promotional modeling work only. Promotional models should submit a photo, their age, and a note as to whether or not they are TABC certified (required for any promotions involving beer or liquor). Promotional models should be 18 years of age or older. 21 or older is generally required for beer and liquor related promotions. We staff a variety of promotional jobs ranging from beer and liquor promotions, tradeshows and conventions, in-store and event. We do not staff car show or bikini type events. Do not submit Models Mayhem links.

ANIMAL TALENT
Submit several clear photos of the animal, along with a description of any special training or previous work. We are seeking full grown animal talent, not puppies or kittens. Keep in mind that most needs are for pure breed animals (dogs, cats), unless highly trained - tricks, acting, etc.

VOICE OVER ACTORS and SINGERS
Send professional quality voice over demo reel or vocal (singing) demo via CD by regular mail, or link to online audio, or as an email attachment. We are not seeking people who just want to do voice over work, or sing. You must have a professional quality demo in order for us to consider you.

IMPORTANT - AFTER YOU HAVE SUBMITTED TO US:

It may take several weeks to receive a response from us if we are interested. If we are not interested, you will not hear back. You may resubmit again every 3 months if you have not heard anything. Sometimes our needs change and so too may our interest. Please do not call us, though, to see if we received your submission.
